NEW PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Paul Ryan has begun a two-day swing through Ohio by saying this is an election about how to solve America's serious problems and President Barack Obama hasn't made the case that he deserves a second term.
The Republican vice presidential nominee told a crowd at Gradall Industries in New Philadelphia, Ohio, that "we cannot afford four more years like these last four years and we don't have to."
Gradall makes excavators and other industrial equipment.
With the Nov. 6 election fast approaching, Ryan says Obama "can't run on his record" because his agenda has failed to revive the economy.
Ryan says the country "needs someone who knows how to create jobs. That is Mitt Romney."
