DETROIT (AP) -- Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets will honor 20 black and Native American soldiers buried at Detroit's Elmwood Historic Cemetery after the Civil War.

More than 450 students from 13 Detroit Public Schools JROTC programs and 400 cadets from other area schools are to take part Monday morning in the annual Veterans Day program.

The soldiers were members of the 102nd U.S. Colored Troops.

The ceremony includes presentation of wreaths and roses, and recognition of veterans groups.

U.S. Reps. John Conyers and Gary Peters and Detroit Public Schools emergency financial manager Roy Roberts are scheduled to attend.

Detroit cadets first participated in the Veterans Day ceremony in 1985, providing color guard and flag details.
