MUNDY TOWNSHIP -- A convoy of local firefighters from across Genesee County which made its way to New York with donated emergency equipment in the wake of superstorm Sandy has returned.

The firefighters left with two trailers full of gear, medical equipment and personal necessities.

NBC25 caught up with the crew in Mundy Township on Thursday.

They shared their thoughts about the trip.

"A lot worse than we had expected and a lot worse than people even know here. Until you have been there and actually seen it, there was a lot of devastation there was a lot more than we expected," Steve Major of Arrowhead Police Emergency Vehicle Equipment said.

The drive was organized by Arrowhead Police Emergency Vehicle Equipment in Genesee County.
