MICHIGAN -- The Michigan Dpeartment of Natural Resources is reminding hunters to report sightings of dead deer as officials monitor the spread of Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease.

EHD is caused by a virus transmitted by biting flies.

Genesee County is on the outer edges of this year's outbreak.

Once bitten, deer can suffer extensive internal bleeding and often get progressively weaker before being found sick or dying along or in water.
