FLINT -- Financial Plus Federal Credit Union held its annual Pink Night on October 4, 2012 to raise funds for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. The event, held at Blackstone’s Pub & Grill in Downtown Flint, raised $46,211.40 to fund breast cancer research and awareness.

“We are thrilled to announce that we have raised over $19,000 more than we did in 2011,” said Olga Long, Vice President of Marketing at Financial Plus. “This wouldn’t have been possible without our sponsors, donors, and overwhelming support from the local community.”

Genesys Comprehensive Breast Center was Pink Night’s title sponsor including NBC25.

The evening’s signature event was a live brassiere fashion show. During the show, models wore brassieres that were hand-adorned by local businesses.

The brassieres were then auctioned off. Throughout the evening, Pink Night attendees enjoyed a fine Blackstone’s buffet and signature pink drinks, both live and silent auctions, music, dancing, and camaraderie. New to this year’s event was a pre-glow party hosted by MLive. Pink Night sponsors were invited to this VIP event for appetizers and drinks.

Sponsors were later escorted across Saginaw St. and through a VIP entrance at Blackstone’s. Next year’s Pink Night will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2013.

Interested sponsors should contact Olga Long at (810) 244-2323 or via email at olong@financialplusfcu.org for more information.
