FLINT -- Firefighters were called to fight a fire near Corunna Road on the city's west side on Monday afternoon.  The fire broke out around 2:30 p.m. at the corner of Swayze and Clancy.

When fire crews arrived, thick black smoke was rising from a two-story house.

Neighbors told NBC25 two kids were in the house smoking prior to the fire.

They say the house has been abandoned for more than a year.

"It worries me a lot because we could've been in there sleeping and this happened. It's ridiculous, it needs to stop," Flint resident Anthony Diller said.

Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the blaze.
