BATTLE CREEK (AP) -- The death of an 8-year-old West Michigan girl from injuries she suffered in an intentionally set house fire is being investigated as a homicide.

Our sister station WOOD-TV reports (http://bit.ly/TxJ3HZ ) Saturday that Karrina Johnson died Friday at a local hospital.

A firefighter pulled Karrina Thursday morning from the burning home, about 50 miles southeast of Grand Rapids.

Battle Creek deputy police chief James Saylor says Karrina was taken off life support after being treated for burns. Two of her siblings escaped the blaze by jumping from a second-floor window.

The fire started on an enclosed porch about 2 a.m. Thursday.

Police have two persons of interest in the case. WOOD-TV says one is being held on an unrelated charge.
