Florence Parth turns 100-years-old next week so fellow volunteers at the mission threw her a party that she says was a complete surprise.

SAGINAW -- One woman has been giving back to the city Rescue Mission of Saginaw for many years and on Wednesday the mission decided to celebrate those years.

Florence Parth turns 100-years-old next week so fellow volunteers at the mission threw her a party that she says was a complete surprise.

"Somebody's having a birthday that's what I thought then when I saw my family I knew. I just thank everybody for coming," Parth said.

Organizers also recognized Martha Haehlein-Boese whose been volunteering at the mission for nearly 40 years.
