FLINT -- According the the city of Flint you'll soon notice a diffrence in your neighborhood.

Flint Emergency Financial Manager Ed Kurtz says he's making blight elimination a major priority.

Nine public saftey officers will be added to the city's staff each patrolling a ward from now till June.

"The new budget year, we will be working on the easy stuff, tagging and towing cars, abandoned vechicles, obvious blight issues, big piles in the yards," Kurtz said.

Communication between the officers may be easier with the new 800 megahurtz radios that went live today.

This now makes Flint compatible with the rest of the county.
