HOWELL (AP) -- A lawyer for a man suspected in a shooting spree that targeted motorists along the Interstate 96 corridor in four Michigan counties says there's nothing new in fresh charges announced in the case.

Defense attorney Charles Groh tells The Associated Press in an email Friday the charges announced a day earlier against 43-year-old Raulie Casteel of Wixom are based on the same allegations made by Livingston County authorities.

The seven new counts, including terrorism, came three weeks after Attorney General Bill Schuette announced he was taking over cases at the request of prosecutors in Livingston, Ingham and Shiawassee counties.

Groh says Casteel is scheduled to appear for an arraignment next Thursday.

Most of the shootings, which were reported between Oct. 16 and Oct. 27, targeted cars near I-96.
