Suspect pullled weapon on security guards, who were forced to open fire

FLINT -- A man suspected of trying to rob a bank in Flint was shot and killed by a security guard this morning.

Police say the suspect entered the lobby of the Chase Bank on West Corunna Road near South Ballenger Highway just after 10 a.m.

The bank security guards first spotted the man across the street wearing a large trench coat and a mask.

When the suspect entered the bank, the guards saw a .22 caliber rifle under his coat.

It was then that that guards ask him to stop.

The suspect pulled out his gun from his coat and pointed his weapon at the guards

The guards were then forced to fire, killing the suspect.

Police say the security guards are shaken up, but OK.

The bank has been robbed twice in the last six months, police also tell us.

The names of the guards and the suspect are not being released at this time.
