LANSING, MICHIGAN -- A Chatfield School security officer who left his gun in a Lapeer charter school's restroom will keep his job according to school officials.

Chatfield School Director Matt Young, said that the security guard was a "good fit for the position" after reviewing the incident.

The school has said that they have revised their security proceedures in order to avoid future incidents.

The security guard has not been named, however he is retired from the Lapeer County sheriff's department.
