FLINT TOWNSHIP -- Bristol Road in Flint Township was shut down for reports of arcing wires around midnight.

Fire crews and first responders arrived at the intersection near Torey Road just before midnight.

Officials say a caller notified authorities that wires were on the ground.

The incident caused the telephone poles to catch on fire.

The roadway was shut down as Consumers Energy crews worked on the downed wires.
