Tittabawassee road was shut down for 2 hours

TITTABAWASEE TOWNSHIP -- A car struck a gas line leading to a temporary shutdown of Tittabawassee Road yesterday afternoon.

Police tell us that a driver who reached down to grab something off of the floor of his car lost control and struck a gas line.

Tittabawassee Township Police and Fire went to the scene immediately, shutting down both east- and westbound traffic on Tittabawassee Road.

Consumers Energy came out and shut down the gas line.

The road was closed for about 2 hours.

There were no injuries and the driver was cited for careless driving.
