GENESEE COUNTY -- State officials announced Wednesday that 34 communities across Michigan will split a total of $15 million dollars to tear down vacant properties.

They hope the initiative will promote future development and increase public safety.

Bay City, Mt. Pleasent, and the Saginaw County Land Bank are also receiving funding.
