FLINT TOWNSHIP -- NBC25 would like to thank the McLaren Cancer Institute and everyone who participated in our second annual free prostate cancer screening event.

Dozens of men came out Wednesday to get screened.

One in six men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in his lifetime.  One in 30 will die from it.

But doctors say the earlier it's detected, the higher your chances for survival.

If you weren't able to make it Wednesday, and you're a male between the age of 50 and 75, an African-American male between 40 and 75 or have a family history of prostate cancer, we encourage you to get screened.
