OAKLAND TWP. (AP) -- Four girls at Oakview Middle School are standing up to bullies.

The Oakland Press reports a hate list in the girl's bathroom at the school prompted the eighth-graders to take action.

They went early to the Oakland Township school and hung 16 neon posters with the words "Take what you need".  The poster had tabs on the bottom that girls could rip off. On the tabs were written words such as love, hope, strength, courage, understanding, loyalty and patience.

The posters became the talk of the school and students were left wondering who made them.

Word later got out and last week Abbie Wise, Isabella Griesser, Courtney Kohlstedt and Abbey Burk were surprised at their school.

The girls say they want to do something like this every month.
