FLUSHING -- The owner of a Flushing health food restaurant loves hemp seeds.
Tom Whitmire says yes, it comes from marijuana, but it doesn't contain THC, the ingredient that gets users "high".
Whitmire says hemp products sometimes get a bad rap for their association with marijuana, but they shouldn't.
Whitmire says hemp seeds are full of a great source of protein.
On NBC 25 Today, he showed hemp seeds, hemp oil, hemp soap and even help milk.
All are available at his City Shops Cafe in downtown Flushing.
Whitmire also teaches a class about hemp seeds.
He's also well versed on wheat grass, which is also available at his cafe.
