'Internet rumors" on Facebook and Twitter are causing Grand Blanc Schools to take action. Grand Blanc Superintendent Norm Abdella says the schools are in 'secure in place" mode, following rumors on the web. Specifcally, they indicate "gun action" would take place in a Genesee County high school, according to Abdella. No specific threats have been made and no specific school was mentioned.

Right now, the doors are locked to Grand Blanc Schools and Holy Family Catholic School in Grand Blanc. People have to be "buzzed in". Classes are continuing. The schools aren't on lockdown. Students are able to move freely inside the buildings.

Parents have called the schools about the situation. Abdella says "nerves are frayed". He says the schools are on hightened alert, but inside there have been no problems.
