The areas only wild animal rescue facility may be forced to shut down this week.

Officials with the Wild Oat Animal Rescue Center say a judge will decide on Wednesday whether to foreclose on their property at 6245 Ray Road in Fenton Township. Currently the center is housing 4 horses, 2 goats, deer, baby raccoons and a chicken. Right now they have about 52 animals.

All the animals were brought into the center to rehabilitate them before they are released to the wild. It's director, Michelle Allen says its been operating for the past 13 years. Allen says currently the center is about 9 thousand dollars in debt and can't make the payment on their facility.

In an effort to raise money to stay open, they have a fundraiser underway on their facebook page at Wild Oat Rescue. They also have information on their website at www.wildoat.net
