86-year-old woman wanders away from home
WILLIAMS TOWNSHIP -- An elderly woman who wandered away from her home yesterday dies after being exposed to the cold.
The Bay County Sheriff's Department received a call in the early morning hours about a missing Alzheimer's patient in western Bay County's Williams Township.
Members from the Aubun Williams and Beaver Township fire departments responded to help, along with the Michigan State Police K-9 division.
The woman was found around 7:30 a.m. in the area of Flajole and W. North Union.
She was taken to Midland Hospital where she passed away.
