FLINT -- A package of bills that is headed to the state Senate would place more penalties on land owners with blighted properties.

Local residents weigh in.

"Lot of people want the streets clean lot of people breaking into neighborhood housing," says Flint resident Jonathan Richardson.

Who's to blame for Flint's title of 'most blighted city.'

In many cases-lawmakers say irresponsible land owners.

The bi-partisan package of bills dishes out steep fines and even jail time.

If the bills pass, not paying blight fines within 30 days means more fines and possibly a year behind bars.
