FLINT -- A Saginaw-area artist is the focal point of a new art exhibit at Mott Community College.

"Rubber-necking universals" features the work of Alaina Plowdrey.

The paintings include both water color and drawings, as well as oil paintings on plywood and other wood beams and sand.

Plowdrey will host a gathering on Tuesday at noon to talk about her work.

The event is free and open to the public.

"She's quite accomplished for somebody as young as she is. She's done a lot of studying in terms of the figure and specifically working in oil painting," gallery coordinator Brian Liljeblad said.

The exhibit will be on display through Tuesday, December 11.
