LANSING TOWNSHIP (AP) -- A Volunteers of America Michigan-sponsored coat drive is being held this weekend at a Lansing-area shopping center.

All donated items are given to Volunteers of America, which distributes them to needy children and adults in the area.

Volunteer Karen Hassankhani says a highlight each year is a visit from an anonymous couple who drop off more than 50 newly purchased coats.

Hassankhani tells the Lansing State Journal (http://on.lsj.com/TmVVCQ ) Saturday was no exception. The couple dropped off 57 new coats.

The coat drive continues Sunday in an empty storefront at Eastwood Towne Center next to Bath & Body Works.
