FLINT TOWNSHIP -- Michigan State Police are investigating a head-on crash that killed at least one person Tuesday evening.

Authorities were dispatched to South Ballenger Highway south of Miller Road in Flint Township around 8:30 p.m. for reports of a truck that collided with another vehicle.  S. Ballenger Highway remained closed to traffic at 11 p.m. as first responders worked to retrieve a body from a vehicle pinned under a utility truck.

MSP officials on scene tell NBC25 a driver in a black vehicle rounded the corner and collided with a Hydaker-Wheatlake Co. utility truck.

Police confirmed on Wednesday morning that the driver of the black vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene.

The victim has been identified as 33-year-old Andrew Hittle from Otter Lake.

The Genesee County Sheriff's Department, Flint Township Police, Flint Fire and STAT EMS all assisted with the incident.
