Plans for medical school moving forward

Michigan State University will lease the old Flint Journal Building in downtown Flint. A spokesman for the MSU  Board of Trustees tells NBC 25 they approved a lease on a portion of the building during their Friday board meeting.

The building is located at First and Harrison. MSU will lease about 40 thousand square feet of the building from it's current owner, Uptown Reinvestment Corporation. The school plans to expand its Pubic Health program at the site. Public Health researchers will work there. It will also being more students to the downtown area.

The program was made possible by a grant from the Mott Foundation.
