Benefits Teddy Bear Patrol
GRAND BLANC -- Genesee County Sheriff Robert Pickell takes a turn as a ballroom dancer. Style Eye Midwest's Lisa Szukhent does the cha-cha. And State Representitive Charles Smiley of Burton will cut a rug. It's all part of the 1st annual Dancing with the Local Stars fundraising event next month at the Jewel in Grand Blanc.
One of the organizers of the April 11 event, Dave Donahue (see picture) says it's sold out. It will raise money to purchase teddy bears for the Teady Bear Patrol.
The bears are given free to local children at times of stress, like accident scenes.Although the tickets are gone, Donahue, who's a realtor with Piper Realty, says the Teddy Bear Patrol still needs donations.
