Twelve-year-old Steward gunned down June 7th

CARROLLTON TWP. -- Close to one hundred people gathered at Carrollton Township's Skyway Plaza Wednesday evening for an anti-violence rally.

"I just feel like we're not doing enough. Something has to be done to stop these shootings in Saginaw," Ashton McMillan said.

McMillan helped organize the event, which included live entertainment and giveaways and was held in honor of 12-year-old Tamaris Steward.

Steward was shot and killed June 7th while sleeping at his grandfather's Saginaw home.

Steward was a student at Carrollton Middle School.

He was laid to rest last Friday.

Police continue to search for his killer.
