Police are saying little about the Friday night murder that took the life of 14-year-old Antonio "Tony" Bell.

Family members say someone called Tony, telling him to meet at Mott Park. He came, then someone shot him in the head.

Balloons fly above the scene where someone shot the teen to death.

It's a quiet area, where neighbors take care of their lawns and pride themselves in having the park for recreation.

Francis Torreano moved here 4-years-ago. She has a two year old son that she watches even closer now.

"Very scary. It definitely makes me think twice about going to the park. Doesn't matter what time of day. It's scary," says Torreano.

Jim Smith has lived here 50-years. He watched police tape off the area Friday night. He says the lack of jobs is fueling teens getting into trouble.

Neighbor Jim Smith says, "It was heart-breaking to see something like that happen in your neighborhood, even the City of Flint. We still have hope that the neighborhood will remain fairly stable."

The victim's family tells NBC25 it believes several people know who did this. They're frustrated because they believe if people would come forward, it would get the criminals committing these crimes off the streets.

This latest shooting ended a week where someone shot a 4-year-old Saginaw girl in the arm. Later in the week, someone fired more than a dozen rounds into a Saginaw home killing an 11-year-old.

"You never know when it's going to happen. Always keep your eyes open," says Torreano.

"We've seen better days, and hopefully sometime there will be better days ahead," says Smith.

NBC25 called the lead detective on this case, and he says there's no update since this happened.

Those with information should call Flint Police at 810-237-6800 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-422-JAIL.
