SOUTH HAVEN (AP) -- A 32-year-old southwestern Michigan man is jailed in Van Buren Township on murder charges in the suspected drunken driving deaths of a woman and two young girls.

Sheriff Dale Gribler says David Glen Johnson was arraigned Friday in South Haven District Court following his release from a hospital for injuries suffered in Tuesday's crash.

Johnson of Covert is charged with three counts of second-degree murder and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Two-year-old Kandice Berryhill, 4-year-old Cassadi Berryhill and 24-year-old Brittney Renee King were killed when Johnson's pickup truck collided head-on with their car in Geneva Township, 50 miles southwest of Grand Rapids.

The children's father, 24-year-old Justin Berryhill, was injured.

Johnson faces a Nov. 28 preliminary hearing. The Associated Press could not determine late Friday if he had a lawyer.
