MT MORRIS TWP -- A house fire raged earlier today in Mt. Morris Township.

Mt. Morris Township Fire Department has asked for and received mutual aid from the City of Mt. Morris.

The fire is at 1222 South Cornell Ave in Mt. Morris Township.

The owners of the home are in their late 50's or early 60's according to a neighbor.

Firefighters tell NBC25 that 5 dogs were killed.

A firefighter was briefly trapped in the home.
