FLINT, MI -- Six Flint school board members are facing recall petitions for approving Superintendent Linda Thompson. That's because one of the board members, Fred Bashir, is Thompson's brother.
The school policy says a relative cannot supervise the work of a relative. However, board members say one member does not directly supervise the superintendent.
In order for a vote on the matter, 8,000 signatures need to be turned in during the next 180 days.
The Flint Journal reports those on the list for potential recall are as follows: Fred Bashir, Jennifer Dillard, Antoinette Lockett, Vera Perry, Stephanie Robb-Martin, and Harold Woodson.
