The man accused of arson at the Hoyt Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center has agreed to a plea deal.

The Saginaw County Circuit Court reports Joseph Ortiz III, a former nursing home employee, pleaded no contest Monday for attempted arson of real property.

In exchange for the plea, prosecutors have dropped a charge of arson to a dwelling.

Ortiz is scheduled to be sentenced January 26th.
