Skiers are taking to MidMichigan hills in large numbers since the snowstorm.

Mt. Holly in Oakland County's Groveland Township has been 100 percent opened since last week. All the hills are covered with snow and all the lifts are in use.

The storm that brought eight to 10 inches provided the extra amount of natural snow that makes skiing a lot more enjoyable.

Mt. Holly General Manager Mark Tibbitts said, "We are experiencing an increase this year. We're up in our pre-season sales for passes over 28 percent. Ski shop sales are up and lift ticket sales are up. We're experiencing some pretty big crowds these last few days."

Right now, the hill has a 2-4 foot base. Around 1,500 to 2,000 skiers head out on weekends.
