(AP) -- Police say a woman with nearly four times the legal limit of alcohol in her system was on the way to pick up her child at school when she got in a head-on crash and found herself behind bars.
Police in Troy say the crash happened Friday afternoon in the northern Detroit suburb. They say the 44-year-old woman struck an oncoming vehicle and was unsteady on her feet when police arrived. Officers say she acknowledged having two glasses of wine that day but turned out to be heavily intoxicated.
The Oakland Press of Pontiac says her preliminary breath test showed she had a blood alcohol level of 0.3 percent. A level of 0.08 percent or more is considered drunk under Michigan law
