Stocks landed on a positive note in the United States after a week long eye on Japan caused the Dow to see its lowest numbers in 2011.
The Dow Jones ended at +83.93 (11,858).
The Nasdaq finished at +7.62 (2,643.67).
The S&P 500 closed out the week at +5.49 (1,279.21).
Oil is still at $101.27 / barrel.
CNN Money says the gains are thanks to news around the globe. The financial website report states, “Stocks were higher throughout Friday's trading session as investors welcomed two pieces of encouraging news: Libya's cease-fire and the G7's Japanese yen intervention plan.”
Investors continue to watch Japan to see how the tragic earthquake, tsunami, and radiation scare will impact the economy.
