SAGINAW CO. -- Update: April 19th, 2:10 p.m.

At a press conference Monday afternoon, Sheriff William Federspiel revealed that Williams had two prior drug arrests. One was in 1994, and the other was in 2001. Because she has prior convictions, the 20 year felony that she faces for the current crime doubles.

The sheriff says his department worked closely with Covenant HealthCare for three months after receiving a tip from a community member about the crimes.  The sheriff says in all the years, he’s never seen anything like this. “She was a professional at it,” the sheriff stated. “She knew how to cut those corners. She knew how to fool people, and she knew how to operate the Jekyll and Hyde to the ‘T.’”

Since our original story post, Covenant HealthCare sent us the following statement regarding the incident:

“Covenant was very shocked and disappointed to learn of this employee's conduct as it is not at all representative of the 4200 employees who put their heart into their work at Covenant. The community can be assured the individual in question is no longer an employee of Covenant as she represented herself as engaging in illegal activities during work hours and on Covenant Property.  Our Standards of Conduct, which apply to all employees, strictly prohibits “immoral, indecent, illegal, unethical or dishonest conduct and behavior which adversely affects Covenant’s reputation in the community.”

In addition, Covenant’s drug policy is very stringent.  Employees may not use, possess, conceal, manufacture, distribute, divert, dispense, or sell controlled substance, narcotics, drugs or alcohol while on the premises.  Violation of this policy may result in corrective action, up to and including discharge.

We are thankful for the support and cooperation of the Sheriff's Department and their work with the Covenant Security Department to resolve this matter."

A Covenant HealthCare employee has been charged for dealing drugs.

During an investigation, the Saginaw County Sheriff’s Department and Covenant Security discovered that 41-year-old Anndrea Alena Williams was dealing crack cocaine in the Covenant Health Care parking lot.

When the sheriff’s department searched her property at work, they found the crack cocaine. They later found more drug trafficking materials at her home. Further investigations revealed she had been dealing the drugs for at least a year.

Williams has worked as the health unit coordinator in the OB unit for nine years.

She has been charged with four counts of delivering / manufacturing cocaine of less than 50 grams.
