MIDLAND CO. -- Police are warning against a phone scam.

The Midland Police Department says an automated phone call has been contacting local residents, claiming that people’s bank accounts, credit cards, and/or medical insurance cards have been frozen or stolen.  The number that comes up on caller ID is 203-322-9876.

Officials are warning that this is a scam.  The unknown group is trying to get personal information.  Please remember never to give out bank account numbers, social security numbers, or other information unless you know who is calling.

If you have any questions regarding these phone calls, please contact Community Relations Officer Chris Wenzell at 989-839-4648.
