SAGINAW COUNTY -- More than 20 years ago Kimberly Currington was brutally beat to death at her Saginaw home.

Her three children discovered her bloody body a short time later.

Friday, a Saginaw County jury found 55year-old Esau Buriel guilty of first degree murder.

It took the jury about seven hours to render the guilty verdict.

The jury heard eye witness testimony from Currington's adult children who were 5, 7, and 9 at the time.

The two-week long trial also included testimony by Michigan State Police and personnel from the Crime Lab and Cold Case Unit.

Buriel's sentencing date is June 15-th.
