TAYMOUTH TOWNSHIP -- It was a wild ride for some hot air balloonists Friday night.
Right now, the Second Annual Great Lakes Regional and Michigan State Hot Air Balloon Championships are taking place at the Bavarian Inn Lodge in Frankenmuth.
37 balloonists will compete to win an invitation to the U.S. Nationals in Longview, Texas in 2012.
Three people riding in a balloon crashed into some power lines shortly before 8:30 p.m. Friday night.
It happened on Elms Road in Taymouth Township.
The crash caused a power outage on the street.
No one was injured.
