The child, who died in the crash, has been identified as Alexcia Parmele. Funeral visitations will be held Thursday at the Ware Smith Woolver Funeral Home in Midland.
Authorities say a 5-year-old child has died and six other people were injured in a series of crashes near Bay City. The crashes happened Monday on U.S. 10 in Bay County's Monitor Township.
Authorities say the child was in a vehicle that rear-ended a vehicle stopped for a traffic back-up. The child died at a Saginaw hospital and four others were injured in the crash.
While traffic was backed up from that crash, a driver failed to stop and caused a six-vehicle crash. Two people were injured in that crash.
