SAGINAW CO. -- Carl Etnrekin, the man who allegedly led police on a high speed chase, that resulted in the roll-over death of Michigan State Police Trooper Jeffrey Werda is out on bond.
Monday, the prosecutor and defense attorney reached an agreement to modify the bond to $29,000 cash/surety or 10%.
Entrekin posted the reduced amount, and was released from jail that same day.
Entrekin is charged with First Degree Manslaughter, Fleeing and Eluding, Driving on a Suspended license, and various drug charges for the alleged incident that happened on April 6th.
Trooper Werda was responding to the high speed chase, when his car rolled over. He died from the impact.
The case has sparked much controversy. Some feel Entrekin’s actions did not directly result in Trooper Werda’s death, however the court has charged him with manslaughter in connection to the rollover crash.
Entrekin’s trial is scheduled to begin in August.
