FLINT -- Twenty-eight people have filed in Ingham County Court in an attempt to overturn Governor Rick Snyder’s Emergency Financial Manager bill.

All across the state Wednesday, small groups gathered to protest the bill, and bring attention to their case.

The group says the bill forces tax payers to pay for a “dictatorship,” and takes away individual’s rights by giving too much power to one person. They're also hoping to prove that it goes against Michigan’s constitution.

Attorney Keith Flynn, who was protesting in Flint Wednesday, says "this bill is wrong because it takes away our fundamental rights to decide what kind of society we want to live in."

The court filing was made Wednesday morning.
