Patrick Grzebinski, promoter for National Action Sports says the best motocross racea Patrick Grzebinski, promoter for the event says the best motocross racers from across the state participate in Moto at the Expo.
"Its an awesome event, this is not like smaller fair races, this is true motorcross," says Grzebinski.
Grzebinski says the outdoor race track is relatively new, and will put riders skills to the test.
"The track is a mile and a half long and has all different types of features from loops to doubles to jumps and that will challenge riders of any ability," says Grzebinski.
However, this event has a special meaning for many of the participants. Many are riding in honor of their fallen friend and fellow motocross racer.
Josh Licthle, 23, collapsed from heatstroke while racing at RedBud, one of the largest motocross events in the country. He died just days later on July 4th, 2011 due to organ failure.
Tyler Fisher was close friend and fellow motocross racer. He says he plans to keep Licthle's memory alive.
"I'm racing in his name and I'm wearing his jersey on my back," says Fisher.
Fisher says Lichtle was very passionate about racing, and had the most heart out of anyone out on the race track.
"The biggest thing was he died doing what he loved," says Fisher.
Jacob Grzbenski participated in motocross races with Lichtle. He says its easy to overheat while riding, and staying hydrated is crucial for anyone out on the track.
"We don't want another incident like how we lost our buddy," say Grzbenski.
An important reminder to keep plenty of water on hand when playing any outdoor sports this summer.
The event runs through Sunday, and features a tent with beverages, food, and an escape from the sun.
