FLINT -- A 26-year-old Flint man has been charged in the murder of a store clerk in 2007.
In 2007, Harvey Lee Johnson allegedly robbed the cash register of the Carpenter Road Market in Flint, and then killed the 41-year-old clerk.
Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton reports Johnson has been charged with 1st Degree Premeditated Murder, Felony Murder, Armed Robbery, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Felony Firearm.
The first three charges alone are each punishable by life without parole.
“I want to commend the Flint Police Department for their tireless efforts and their never-ending commitment to seeing justice through in this case,” said Prosecutor Leyton. “Their persistence and diligence has paid off with the apprehension of Harvey Lee Johnson and my office will see to it that he is held accountable for his actions in a court of law.”
