Detroit won four World Series titles while playing at Tiger Stadium
DETROIT -- From 1960 to 2009 it was called Tiger Stadium. It was called Briggs Stadium before that, and Navin field before that.
Now, its Ernie Harwell Park.
The ballfield sits in the shadow of a casino, unoccupied for a decade before finally being demolished in 2009.
But stepping onto home plate, you can almost hear Ernie with the call.
Excitement continues to build for the 2011 Detroit Tigers.
A team not expected to even win its own division, is now on the brink of advancing to the American League Championship Series.
"This is going to be something that you're never going to believe. The excitement will be electrifying," says Fred Dojka, who drove in from Niagara Falls for game four versus the New York Yankees.
Monday marked the largest crowd to ever watch a playoff game at Comerica Park.
Tuesday, that mark could fall as Detroit brings a 2-1 series lead into the game.
