The Associated Press is reporting that Rep. Dale Kildee's wife Gayle has been diagnosed breast cancer.
The report indicates that the cancer was found in the early stages, and that she will undergo a partial mastectomy this month. Gayle will then undergo several weeks of radiation therapy at Sibley Memorial Hospital.
81-year-old Dale Kildee announced in July of this year that he will not be seeking re-election in the next year, as he wants to spend more time with his family. He has served 18 terms as representative for Michigan's 5th Congressional District.
