TRAVERSE CITY -- Sixteen-year-old Robert Schwander has been found guilty of 2nd degree murder in the death of Carly Lewis.

Lewis disappeared in June.  Her body was found outside Traverse City’s Public Works complex.

Schwander, the son of a county sheriff’s deputy, was linked to the crime.  He allegedly admitted to the death, but then pleaded not guilty in court.

7&4 News was in the courtroom during the trial this week. They report Schwander admitted to burying Lewis’ body in a shallow grave and then moving it to a sand lot about a week later.   You can watch 7&4’s full report on the court ruling in the video box above.

The jury found him guilty and has scheduled a sentencing for November 18th.
