The national jobless rate has dipped to the lowest level in two years, but economists say it is still not enough to pull the nation out of the current slump.

CNN Money reports employers added 120,000 new jobs in November, causing the unemployment rate to dip to 8.6%. That’s the lowest rate the nation has seen since March 2009.

However, CNN Money reports that despite the significant decline in the numbers reported, that doesn’t necessarily reflect the truth.  Reports indicate that more people have given up looking for a job. Therefore, those numbers don’t reflect the actual number of people without work.

Michigan is still near the top of the unemployment charts.  Current estimates suggest the state is sitting at a 10.6% jobless rate.
