The trial for the man accused of torturing a 4-year-old boy of Argentine Township to death in 2010 will begin his trial Wednesday in two counties.

Jury selection is expected today in the trial of Brandon Hayes, who is charged with first degree murder for the death of Dominick Calhoun. The Flint Journal reports jurors will be from St. Clair County and will hear opening statements there, and will then ride a bus to Genesee County to hear testimony from witnesses.

Police say Hayes tortured little Dominick Calhoun for four days after the child angered him by having an accident on a sofa. The toddler suffered burns and injuries to his entire body before he died the morning of April 12, 2010.

Dominick Calhoun's mother, Corrine Baker pleaded guilty to second degree murder and child abuse in the death.
